Introduction:
True Detective is an American television crime drama series on HBO created and written by Nic Pizzolatto, with the first season directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Season one stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson (both executive producers of the series), Michelle Monaghan, Michael Potts, and Tory Kittles, and uses multiple timelines to trace two Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division homicide detectives' hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana across seventeen years. The series premiered on January 12, 2014, and consisted of eight episodes which concluded on March 9, 2014. The series has received widespread critical acclaim.

Review:

In a first of its kind, the story-telling is a masterpiece. The potrayal of this TV series by director Cary Joji Fukunaga, seemingly breathes life into a full-fledged Crime Thriller novel. The writing is top notch, the actors do more than just justice to their characters, and the direction is perfect. The "music-less" dialogue scenes are tense, grip the audience and never let no throughout the season. Rust and Marty, are chasing a serial-killer, since seemingly across two decades. The series moves at its own pace, giving ample time for character development. This, coupled with one of the best performance of all time by the two lead detectives/actors, lets the audience: wonder, fall in love with the characters, understand their choices, and ultimately be left wanting for more and more. Its a must-watch series and not to be missed by anyone who likes a quality drama with excellent trio of acting/writing/directing. Watch it, you won't be disappointed.

Its brought to you by HBO. Hence, naturally, there's nudity. It marks the debut nudity by Alexandra Daddario(welcomed nudity at that!   ) and also has some tense sex scenes. So, take whatever precautions you deem necessary.
